Shoppers will soon see some changes underway at the Ballantyne Village shopping center.
Rush Espresso will be moving to a new store in suite 130, which is directly across from its current spot in suite 140 at its 14815 Ballantyne Village Way address. The cafe signed an extended lease for the new spot and will revamp its cafe design and layout when it moves.
Details of the lease and redesign, as well as a timetable for the move, aren’t clear. The cafe’s owner couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
Villa Antonio will be shutting the doors of its last Charlotte restaurant. It’ll reopen as Gusto Pasta Bar at a new, smaller 3,500 square-foot store between Mellow Mushroom and TCBY. The restaurant will serve a variety of menu items including pasta, specialty sangrias and an assortment of tapas.
This will be Gusto’s first location in Charlotte, and Villa Antonio will remain open until Gusto is operational. Details of the opening and dates weren’t available.
According to Ed Camp, general manager of Ballantyne Village, a new restaurant will assume the space of Villa Antonio and an announcement about the new tenant will come soon.
The closure of Villa Antonio’s Ballantyne Village location will mark the company’s second restaurant closure in a year. Last May, the restaurant shut the doors of its South Boulevard store, saying the company didn’t want to operate two restaurant locations.
