A sushi burrito and poke bowl restaurant called Umami PokéRito will soon open in Carmel Village in south Charlotte.
Umami will occupy 1,300 square feet in the shopping center, according to a statement Tuesday from Lat Purser & Associates, the Charlotte firm that represented Umami.
The restaurant is expected to open sometime in July at the south Charlotte shopping center, which is at the corner of Carmel and Pineville Matthews roads and includes a slew of other tenants like Palm Beach Tan, Charlotte Fine Art and Salon Tribeca.
Umami specializes in sushi burritos, as well as poke bowls, an increasingly popular dish containing rice, cubed fish and other fresh ingredients.
This will be the restaurant’s first location. It will be headed by Chuchen Lou, who has worked for over a decade at restaurants in Las Vegas and New York.
