In anticipation of its third Charlotte-area gym opening this fall, Life Time Athletic is hosting a job fair and group fitness audition Aug. 26.

The fitness facility plans to hire for more than 300 positions, including personal trainers, massage therapists, lifeguards, birthday party coordinators, yoga instructors and prep cooks.

The hiring fair takes place Aug. 26 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Fairway Room at the Ballantyne Hotel, according to a statement Wednesday from Life Time Fitness. The gym’s general manager Johnny Groff will be on site to answer questions about employment opportunities.

A group audition will also be held at the Ballantyne Hotel that day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Carolina Room. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. for dance instructors, and at 12:30 p.m. for yoga and cycle instructors. Live auditions are three minutes long and offer candidates the chance to demonstrate their teaching style to the Life Time Athletic leadership team, the gym said.

Life Time Fitness’s 200,000 square-foot facility is under construction at 11220 Golf Links Dr., near the Waverly mixed-use development in south Charlotte. This will be the fitness chain’s 129th location.

The massive new facility will include an aquatic complex, 20 tennis courts, two full-sized basketball -courts, 400 pieces of cardio and strength-training equipment, a spa, and group exercise studios for yoga, Pilates and more.

The facility anticipates a late fall opening date.

“Becoming a part of our team offers the unique opportunity to grow your career while helping our members to live happier and healthier lives,” Groff said.
