A new Indian restaurant is opening soon in the spot previously occupied by Try Sports in SouthPark.
Tandur Indian Kitchen will take up roughly 3,500 square feet of space next to Earth Fare off Colony Road, and it’s expected to open in the first quarter of next year, according to a statement Thursday from Foundry Commercial, the firm that handles leasing for the Morrison Shopping Center.
Tandur is a fast-casual Indian concept from Knoxville that serves traditional dishes like tikka masala along with local fare like a Carolina Wrap with pulled pork and slaw, according to a review by the Knoxville Mercury.

“We are excited to continue working with the asset owners to improve current offerings and secure successful, new-to-market tenants, much like Tandur Indian Kitchen,” said Susan McGuire, principal and managing director at Foundry Commercial, in a statement.
Try Sports closed its SouthPark location in 2015. The upscale sporting apparel retailer had occupied the 13,770-square-foot space in the former Stickley Furniture store since summer 2012. The company had said it was consolidating operations into its Blakeney location, although that store appears to have closed as well.
It’s unclear what will fill the remaining 10,000-plus square feet of space at the Morrison complex.
