On Tuesday we reported that Tijuana Flats has closed its doors on East Boulevard with plans to open another Charlotte location this summer.
According to a spokeswoman for the Florida-based Tex-Mex chain, there will actually be two more area restaurants in coming months: the first, in Concord Mills, will open “mid-May,” and a secondm near UNC-Charlotte, will open sometime in the summer.
“We’re very excited about both locations,” Monique Yeager, vice president of marketing at Tijuana Flats, wrote in an email to the Observer.
The new Tijuana Flats in Concord Mills will be across the street from Lowe’s Home Improvement and near the Carolina Ale House. The exact location of the UNCC restaurant wasn’t immediately available.
