Chicken Salad Chick opens its fifth North Carolina location in Concord on Tuesday.

The fast-casual chicken salad restaurant is at 8915 Christenbury Parkway, Suite 40, near Concord Mills, the chain said in a statement this week.

The new restaurant is owned and operated by Mike Hernandez and Don Carson of the Cardez Hospitality Group. Before franchising, Hernandez was general manager and executive chef for Compass Group, a Charlotte-based food service management company.

During the first week, the restaurant will be offering a slew of specials – including a card for a free scoop of chicken salad for the first 100 guests Friday, among other perks. The new Concord restaurant will be open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Chicken Salad Chick was started in Alabama in 2008. The chain operates other area locations uptown and on Pineville-Matthews Road in South Charlotte.
