Smoke BBQ Grille has closed its Stonecrest location in Piper Glen after about two years in business.
The restaurant said in an email to customers Monday that as of Oct. 30, it is “officially closed for business.” The company said it will contact customers with any reservations and catering orders by the end of the week.
“We thank you for your continued support over the last few years and truly apologize for any inconvenience,” Smoke said.
The chain added that the closure does not include its Smoke Modern Barbeque locations in Colorado.
It is unclear what will take the restaurant’s spot in Stonecrest. The 5,000 square-foot space was previously occupied by City Tavern, which closed in 2014, according to Charlotte Weekly.
It’s also unclear why the restaurant opted to close – a representative could not be reached for comment.
Smoke is a Colorado-based chain that started in 2007. It had another local restaurant in Huntersville’s Birkdale Village that has also since closed.
