The popular chain Philly Pretzel Factory is opening this spring in Charlotte’s Steele Creek area.
The local tennis pro and coach Dwayne Thomas will open his shop across from the Rivergate Shopping Center (12806 South Tryon St.) sometime in mid April, a spokeswoman said in an email.
The shop is currently under construction, she added.
Philly Pretzel Factory sells a variety of homemade pretzels, from original salted to cinnamon to hot dog pretzels with various dipping sauces.
The Pennsylvania-based company, founded in 1998, told the Observer in a 2015 interview that it plans to open five to 10 stores in the Charlotte area as part of its growth plan to become a national franchise over the next few years.
The company operates three other shops in the Charlotte area, according to its website.
