Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina will reopen in Concord Mills Friday after renovations.

The fast casual Mexican restaurant’s upgrade is part of a larger overhaul of the mall’s food court, which now includes Green Leaf’s, South Philly Steaks & Fries and Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen as well.

The new location will be run by Villa Enterprises, an international franchisor that operates more than 400 quick-serve restaurants in malls, airports, casinos and other high-traffic locations.

“Bringing Salsarita’s back to Concord Mills provides another tremendous opportunity to reach a large audience with a fresh new look,” Phil Friedman, CEO of Salsarita’s, said in a statement.

Salsarita’s was founded in Charlotte in 2000 and operates more than 70 locations in 19 states. The company recently said it plans to open an additional 12 restaurants this year in Texas, Georgia and North Carolina markets.

According to the company’s website, Salsarita’s currently operates 17 stores in the Charlotte area.
