A fur retailer will open in the old Brookstone location in SouthPark mall.
A spokeswoman for mall owner Simon Property Group confirmed Henig Furs is opening but could not immediately provide an opening date.
Henig Furs, a privately held retailer based in Alabama, first opened in 1920. The company sells casual furs, leather, cashmere and outerwear for adults and children, according to its website. The company, which calls itself “the largest furrier in the Southeast,” also sells through a partnership with Belk.
Henig operates about 25 locations nationwide.
Brookstone, an electronics and gadget seller, closed its store near Dillards and Old Navy in SouthPark last month.
As some stores have closed their doors in SouthPark, a number of new ones have announced plans to open recently, including the Charleston retailer Palmetto Moon, home furnishings store Ballard Designs and the seasonal boutique Southern Connection.
