Blue Hem, an upscale jeans boutique, is the first retail tenant to sign with Camden Gallery in South End.
The retailer will open in September in an approximately 935-square-foot space at 1750 Camden Road.
This will be Blue Hem’s first store. The retailer offers a variety of high quality denim apparel for men and women, with products ranging from about $150 to $300.
Blue Hem owner Suzy McIntosh said the store will emphasize convenience, product knowledge, a consumer-focused experience and a singular focus on selling exclusively denim. She said the location is ideal for Blue Hem’s consumer base.
“South End is the epicenter of Charlotte and the place to be for our target audience. The high density, urban-residential hip setting is unbeatable, and is at the center of where we feel a large percentage of our customers live, work, and play,” McIntosh said in an email to the Observer.
Camden Gallery, developed by Camden, is a multifamily project under construction on Camden Road between West Boulevard and Kingston Avenue that will include 323 apartments and nearly 9,000 square feet of retail space.
