An upscale woman’s consignment shop will open in June in Ballantyne Village.
Nouveaux will offer couture and luxury clothes, shoes, handbags and more from designers like Chanel, Prada, Kate Spade, Tori Burch, Louis Vuitton and other brand names at one-third the retail price.
The retailer’s owners and operators, Carly Edmiston and Julia Austin, designed Nouveaux as a more upscale version of Austin’s other consignment shop, FiFi’s Fine Resale, which is in Cornelius.
Customers interested in consigning at the boutique can make an appointment for an assessment of their items, which if accepted will be featured in the showroom for 60 days. Profits will be split 60-40 between the retailer and the seller.

“Most things are going to be like new,” Edmiston said in a statement. “We are confident we’ll be able to move most items (within) 30 days.”
The boutique will be next to TCBY in a 3,000-square-foot space that was formerly Art in the Village, which is moving to another space next to Abraham Joseph Jewelers.
Ballantyne Village is undergoing a slew of changes, includingadditions and relocations of several stores. Two years ago, the shopping center was bought by investors Vision Ventures and Mount Vernon Asset Management, who are now starting to see their rebranding efforts take place.
