Greek Isles is moving from its current South End location next to the light rail. A Mexican restaurant will eventually take its place.

Frank Photopoulos, a co-owner of the Greek restaurant, said their lease ends July 31, and that the restaurant’s management is actively looking for a new location. It will hopefully still be near the South End area, Photopoulos said.

“We’ve established a customer base for the past 11 years. If we go too far out we will lose all those people. It makes sense to stay close,” Photopoulos said.

Bottle Cap Management, the parent company of Greek Isles’ next door neighbor All American Pub, has master-leased the entire building, said Brad Murr, a managing partner at MPV Properties, which manages and leases the property at 200 E. Bland St.

The group will eventually put a Mexican restaurant in Greek Isles’ place, Murr said.

Tom Wicker of Bottle Cap Management could not be reached for comment. Bottle Cap Management also operates several other area bars and restaurants such as Brazwells Pub and Whiskey Warehouse.
