Two new fast-food restaurants are in the works for east Charlotte.
A new, approximately 3,000-square-foot Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is planned for the former Suntrust bank location at 6011 Albemarle Road, near Central Avenue, according to property records.
The restaurant will have a drive-thru and 40 parking spaces, records show.
Just up the street, new construction for a Zaxby’s is planned for 8905 Albemarle Road, near Circumferential Road and across the street from Target.
Opening dates of the two new restaurants weren’t immediately available.
Both Atlanta-based Popeyes and Statesboro, Ga.-based Zaxby’s are fast-casual concepts known for their fried chicken. They’re competitors of Charlotte-based Bojangles’, which went public last month.
