From now through Aug. 10, a back-to-school donation drive will be held at the Arboretum Shopping Center to collect supplies for Charlotte-area schoolchildren in need.
Drop-off bins are located at Chili’s and Harris Teeter, according to a memo from the shopping center this week.
Supplies will be distributed to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students with the highest need. Suggested items to donate include binders, flash drives, cleaning supplies like Clorox wipes and craft items like glue sticks, colored pencils and scissors.
Each person who donates a bag receives two free training sessions from Orangetheory Fitness, which opens to the public July 29 in the Arboretum next to Le Peep. Those interested need to label the donated bag with their name, school and email address.
