Uptown Charlotte hotspot 5church is opening a third location in midtown Atlanta sometime in the first three months of 2016.
The restaurant opened in Charlotte in May 2012, and a second location is slated to open soon in Charleston. The new Atlanta location will be at 1197 Peachtree Street NE.
“We love the growth that’s happening in Atlanta and feel there is a lot of continuity between Charlotte, Charleston and Atlanta,” said Ayman Kamel, one of 5Church’s owners, who will move to Atlanta with his family to operate the new restaurant.
The new restaurant’s menu will feature 5Church favorites like the “60 Second” NY Strip Steak, as well as new, locally sourced dishes specially made for the Atlanta location, the restaurant said in a statement this week. It will also have a 200-bottle wine list and a selection of specialty cocktails and craft beers.

The restaurant will accommodate 185 diners downstairs and have a rooftop dining space upstairs as well.
The Atlanta location will also feature neo-Victorian decor including white concrete bars, black leather banquettes, chandeliers and large-scale artwork from local artists, including a hand-painting ceiling featuring Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” – a trademark of 5Church also featured in the Charlotte and Charleston restaurants.
As its name implies, 5Church originally opened in uptown Charlotte at 5th and Church streets in 2012. It’s now located at 127 N. Tryon St., #8. The Charleston location will be at Market and East Bay streets in the city’s downtown historic district.
