An upcale women’s consignment shop called Nouveaux is targeting a late August opening date for its boutique in Ballantyne Village.
The store will be open next to TCBY at 14835 Ballantyne Village Way starting Aug. 24. During its grand opening Sept. 24, customers are invited to come and enjoy music, refreshments, special discounts, raffles and more from 4 until 6 p.m.
The new opening date is later than originally thought: The boutique had originally targeted a June opening date when it announced it’s coming to Ballantyne.
Nouveaux will sell previously owned designer handbags, accessories and clothing from names like Chanel, Gucci, Prada and Christian Louboutin at up to 70 percent off retail prices, the store said in a recent statement.

The retailer’s owners and operators, Carly Edmiston and Julia Austin, designed Nouveaux as a more upscale version of Austin’s other consignment shop, FiFi’s Fine Resale, which is in Cornelius. Nouveaux will also accept popular department store and mall brands to be sold at the Lake Norman boutique, the company said.
“We feel we are bringing a unique addition to the boutique offerings at Ballantyne Village,” Edmiston said.
Customers interested in consigning at the boutique can make an appointment for an assessment of their items, which if accepted will be featured in the showroom for 60 days. Profits will be split 60-40 between the retailer and the seller.
The boutique will also sell merchandise through its website.
Nouveaux will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
