Owen’s Bagel & Deli in South End is now open again being closed for repairs for more than three months. Owner Ashley Wyrick says you can expect a “big comeback” — which includes the addition of longer hours and craft beer.
The building was deemed unsafe after a car struck its back wall on May 3, requiring construction work to fix structural damages. Owen’s passed its last round of inspections Monday, and the bagel shop officially reopened Friday at 7 a.m.
While closed, Owen’s purchased some new equipment that will make it possible to scramble eggs on a flattop griddle, Wyrick said, and add a lot more to its already popular menu.
“I am always trying to ‘push the envelope’ for crazy creative things to put on bagels while making them taste delicious,” says Wyrick, a Johnson & Wales University graduate.

Owen’s also plans in the near future to extend its hours, add local craft beer and have live music on Saturdays and Sundays.
Owen’s is known for its steamed bagel sandwiches and eclectic graffitied interior. It’s located at 2041 South Boulevard, Suite G, next to Polished Nail Bar & Spa.
