Florida-based Publix will open its first Statesville store in 2017.
The grocery store chain said Tuesday it’s executed a lease on a 45,000 square-foot space in the North Pointe Shopping Center at the intersection of Turnersburg Highway and North Pointe Boulevard.
An exact opening date was not immediately available.
Publix began its foray into the North Carolina market in 2014 with a store in Ballantyne. It’s been expanding aggressively, most recently with a store in South End that opened this spring. The grocer has said it will open another in Cotswold in 2017 and recently indicated interest in an uptown location, too.
