An on-demand car-washing business wants to make it such that Charlotteans never have to drive to a traditional car wash again.
Spiffy, a mobile service that also offers auto detailing, launched in Charlotte Thursday.
The Triangle-based company, started in 2014, offers a mobile app in which customers can schedule, track and pay for their services, and the Spiffy car-wash personnel will come to them. Services, which include carpet shampooing and ozone treatments, range from $19.99 to $299.
Spiffy washes vehicles on special mats that collect water, making the service environmentally friendly.

Chief Executive Officer Karl Murphy said Spiffy began hiring and training technicians and managers in Charlotte in May, and at that time also began developing partnerships with area businesses to offer the car-washing as a zero-cost employee benefit.
“Expanding to an NFL city from our home in Raleigh is a key milestone in the growth of our business and shows that our management team has developed the systems and procedures needed to grow while continuing to deliver a superior customer experience,” Executive Chairman Scot Wingo said in a statement.
The Spiffy app is available for download in the Apple store and on Google Play.
