Bojangles’ is expanding its footprint in the Charlotte area market with the opening next week of new restaurants in Monroe and Concord.

The 3,800-square-foot store in Monroe is at 2303 West Roosevelt Blvd. It will officially open Sept. 21 at 5 a.m. with coupon giveaways, free items including ice tea and kids’ meals, as well as the chance to win free Bojangles’ breakfast for a year.

Ahead of the grand opening, the Monroe restaurant will also give away a free sausage biscuit and ice tea on Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Bojangles’ said in a statement.

Details about the Concord opening were not immediately available, though a Bojangles’ representative did confirm a new store there is coming next week.

Growth in the local market fits with the expansion plans the Charlotte-based chain laid out when it went public this spring. Bojangles’ said it would grow its footprint in areas in which it’s already well-known, then eventually expand into adjacent markets.

In August, the chicken-and-biscuits restaurant announced several new store openings in the Atlanta market, and in July, it opened its first West Virginia location and said it plans to open several more stores both there and in Kentucky starting this year.

Bojangles’ operates nearly 650 restaurants, primarily in the Southeastern U.S.
