Indian and Pakistani grocery store coming to University area

It looks like a Georgia-based Indian and Pakistani grocery store is expanding into Charlotte.

Property records show a request for construction of a Suvidha Indo-Pak Groceries in the University area. The project includes renovation of an existing building at 10008 University City Blvd. and constructing a small addition to the building for walk-in coolers.

The project also includes adding a new, approximately 5,000-square-foot building separately for leasable retail use.

The grocer’s owners could not be reached for comment.

Suvidha sells a variety of Indian and Pakistani food including fresh produce, spices, rice, sauces and snacks. It also has Bollywood movies available for rent, according to its website.

Suvidha operates three stores in Georgia and one North Carolina store in Morrisville.
