The popular Charlotte barbecue restaurant Queen City Q said this week it is adding a third location, this one in Concord, in early winter.
The new restaurant will be in a two-story, standalone building at 8524 Pit Stop Court NW, across the street from Concord Mills. The new location seats about 150 inside and out, and includes a private dining area with its own bar and patio, the restaurant’s management said.
Queen City Q first opened in uptown Charlotte in February 2012 and opened a second location in Matthews at the Plantation Market Shopping Center in July. The barbecue joint also operates two stands inside the BB&T Ballpark and recently said it will open two concession stands in the Time Warner Cable Arena this fall.
For the two basketball arena locations and the Concord location, Queen City Q is in the process of hiring about 75 people, according to a statement.

“We’ve been very busy lately and are excited to be growing again,” Bryan Meredith, one of the restaurant’s partners, said in a statement Monday. “We love this location across from Concord Mills and its close proximity to Charlotte Motor Speedway.”
Queen City Q is known for its Carolinas-style brisket, ribs, smoked sausage, chicken and pork, as well as side items like hushpuppies, deviled eggs, collard greens and macaroni and cheese.
