Carolina Place Mall will host a job fair Oct. 13 to prepare for the upcoming holiday shopping season.

The hiring event will take place on the Pineville mall’s lower level from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Representatives from nearly 30 stores -- including Belk, Francesca’s and Forever 21 -- will be on site to meet with job seekers to fill part-time and full-time positions.

Additionally, Auntie Anne’s, Claire’s, Icing, The Limited, NY & Company and Stride Rite will be accepting applications in store that day.

“In many cases, seasonal employment can lead to something more long term, so it’s important to put yourself in front of as many potential employers as possible and find the right opportunity for you,” Carolina Place General Manager Susan Barwick said in a statement.

No registration is required. The mall said participants are encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume. A full list of participating retailers is available online at http://www.carolinaplace.com/events/holiday-job-fair.

The mall is located at 11025 Carolina Place Parkway, Pineville.

Other retailers with a local presence, including Macy’s, Toys ‘R’ Us and Kohl’s, have also recently announced plans to staff up for the busy holiday shopping season.

Nationwide, holiday sales this year are expected to represent approximately 19 percent of the retail industry’s annual sales of $3.2 trillion, according to the National Retail Federation.
