What's In Store

Local retailer Studio C moving to South End in January

Local retailer Studio C is moving to South End in January. To prepare for the move, the store will have a sample sale Nov. 13-14 at its warehouse on Westinghouse Boulevard.

Studio C, which sells trendy school and office supplies, is vacating its office space at 9144 Arrowpoint Blvd., off Arrowood Road, because its lease is up in April and because it needs a smaller spot, says Lorraine Garden, Studio C’s e-commerce manager.

“We also wanted to move to an area that will be conducive to attracting new and upcoming creative talent,” Garden says.

Studio C’s new location in South End is at 1616 Camden Road, between Park and Kingston avenues next to the rail trail.

The retailer’s clearance sale at its warehouse at 3552 Westinghouse Blvd. will feature all items marked at 75 to 85 percent of retail price. Items at the sale will include office supplies like notebooks, binders, backpacks, laptop sleeves, tablet cases, iPhone and Galaxy phone cases, pencil cases and accessory clutches.

Sale hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 13 and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 14. Two Chix & a Truck food truck will be on-site Nov. 13, and The Tin Kitchen food truck will be there Nov. 14.

Studio C, which opened in 1945 as Carolina Pad, will continue to hold sales at its 25,000-square-foot warehouse on Westinghouse, a spokeswoman said.
