The popular Charlotte steakhouse on South Boulevard has more than doubled the size of its kitchen in order to handle an increased volume of business. Its menu remains the same.
Between the kitchen and the front of the restaurant, Beef and Bottle is hiring another 10-12 people, said owner Ron Rice. He said business has been good, and that he is “fully expecting” an increase in sales that will help offset construction costs.
Rice added that the restaurant has already received a large number of reservations for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Beef and Bottle reopens at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, and usual hours resume after that.

“It’s going to be a huge weekend already,” Rice said.
Asked whether Beef and Bottle has considered adding a second location given the success of the South Boulevard restaurant, Rice simply responded: “Never.”
Beef and Bottle first opened on North Tryon Street as House of Steaks. It moved to its current location at 4538 South Blvd. in 1978.
The restaurant, often called one of the best steak restaurants in Charlotte, is known for its dimly lit, old-fashioned atmosphere and its menu of steaks, seafood, chicken and pasta.
