Orangetheory Fitness is coming to South End.
The new studio will occupy 3,500 square feet in the renovated building at 2317 South Blvd., which previously housed Paradise Island Dive Shop. The building will also have a Mattress Firm.
Renovation of the 8,000-square-foot building is expected to be complete in early December, and the new tenants will open shortly thereafter, says Mark Newell, who is leasing the project for MPV Properties.
Orangetheory has been expanding in the Charlotte area with a recent opening in the Arboretum and another one soon at Lake Norman. The company currently operates six North Carolina locations.

Orangetheory offers 60-minute workouts split into intervals of cardio and strength training using a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowing machines, TRX suspension training and free weights. Participants wear heart rate monitors to track their workout intensity and maximize metabolic burn.
Just across the street from the new studio, MPV is also developing the three-story, 36,000-square-foot building at 2400 South Blvd., just down the street from the Camden Southline apartments and Publix supermarket. Initial tenants include Novant Health and Truliant Credit Union, Newell says.
Construction on that building is slated to be completed in mid-2016.
