Fashion retailer H&M will open a Hickory store in the Valley Hills Mall on Dec. 10.
H&M is a Swedish retailer known for its trendy apparel offered at affordable prices. Along with its clothing for adults and teens, the 20,000-square-foot Valley Hills Mall store will carry H&M’s children’s collection, for newborns to 14-year-olds.
The new store is at 1960 U.S. 70 SE. It will be open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.

On opening day in Hickory, H&M will offer the first 100 shoppers various giveaways like an H&M T-shirt. The retailer said customers who recycle clothes on opening day can also enter to win a gift card valued from $50 to $250.
H&M operates 407 stores across the U.S., including 10 in North Carolina.
