Durham-based Rise Biscuits Donuts will open its first Charlotte location in Ballantyne this summer.
Construction starts this month on the new restaurant, a 1,400 square-foot space in Ballantyne Town Center at the corner of Providence West and Johnston roads.
The restaurant’s menu features sweet and savory breakfast and lunch fare in a to-go format. Rise was founded in November 2012 and was ranked among the Best Biscuits in the U.S. by Food & Wine magazine, the restaurant said in a statement Wednesday.
“We believe Rise fills a void in the Charlotte breakfast market,” says Allison Shoaf, who is opening the Charlotte Rise with her husband, Ryan. “We cannot wait to serve and introduce this community to the best dang biscuits and donuts.”
