A craft brew pub called Growler USA will open Jan. 30 in Ballantyne.

Growler USA will have more than 100 taps of American-made beers, including nearly 20 local craft options from Triple C, Olde Mecklenburg, Birdsong and Lenny Boy. As its name suggests, growlers will be available for take-home purchases.

The pub will also have a menu that features Southern-inspired items such as pimento cheese bruschetta. Also available will be kombucha, draft beer, hard cider and cold-pressed coffee, Growler USA said.

Growler USA is a national chain headquartered in Colorado. Local businessman Matt Coben is opening the Ballantyne location at 12206 Copper Way in Toringdon Circle.

“Charlotte’s enthusiasm for craft beer and its desire to support local entrepreneurs make it a perfect fit for our first Growler USA franchise,” said Dan White, CEO and founder of Growler USA.

The Ballantyne location will have three bars, two traditional sitting arrangements and one standing bar. Taps are monitored electronically, which provides customers live updates on social media of what is new, on tap and out of stock. The pub also has cellphone charging stations and an HDMI/computer hookup for private meetings.

The pub will be open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and noon-8 p.m. Sundays.
