Charlotte Premium Outlets, Concord Mills and SouthPark Mall are closed Friday because of the severe winter weather in the Charlotte region.
The Simon-owned shopping centers are expected to reopen Saturday as regularly scheduled.
“In light of current weather conditions, property management is taking these precautionary steps to ensure the safety of all shoppers, retailers and employees,” Simon said in a statement Friday afternoon.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and government offices also closed Friday. Officials expect about a half-inch of ice in the city, more than enough to bring down tree limbs and power lines. Katherine Peralta
