Famous Toastery will open its latest Charlotte location April 1 in the University area.
The new restaurant is at 8933 JM Keynes Drive, Suite 2, which overlooks the lake and main bridge at the Shoppes at University Place, according to University City Partners.
It’ll be run by local franchise owners Patrick and Charlotte McManaman, who have also signed on to sponsor a free concert series that runs 6-9 p.m. every Thursday in April next to their restaurant.
Famous Toastery is known for its egg dishes available throughout the day, as well as its sandwiches, burgers, wraps, melts and salads.

The new restaurant University area location will operate 7 a.m.-3 p.m. every day.
Famous Toastery, previously called Toast Café, was started in Huntersville in 2005. It recently opened restaurants in Concord and Indian Land and plans to expand further in the Charlotte region, including uptown, according to its website. Currently the chain operates eight locations in the Charlotte metro.
