Amazon has expanded its free same-day delivery service to Prime account holders in 11 new metro areas including Charlotte.
Customers can place orders in the morning and receive free delivery of orders over $35 by 9 p.m. that day, seven days a week, Amazon said in a statement Wednesday. Orders placed in the afternoon or evening will arrive the next day.
Amazon has a distribution center in Concord, where it employs about 360 people. Such facilities help Amazon speed up delivery on orders across the U.S.
“We keep making Prime better, and as our operational capabilities grow, we will continue to invent and expand delivery options that customers love,” said Greg Greeley, vice president of Prime.
