A competitive dance studio will be the latest tenant in the Metropolitan shopping center in Midtown Charlotte.
Midtown Ballroom will be in a 5,200 square-foot space at 1133 Metropolitan Avenue, between Modern Salon & Spa and Trader Joe’s. It is supposed to open in early June, according to a statement Tuesday from the Metropolitan.
The studio will offer group and private classes for dancers of all ages and skill levels in a variety of genres, including classical, Latin, and country dances.
It will be open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and closed on Sunday. The studio’s accepting bookings for dance instruction via its website, http://www.midtownballroomcharlotte.com/.

“We wanted to build a beautiful ballroom dance studio in a cool and convenient location for people to get active and learn something new,” said Erica Millarc, founder of Midtown Ballroom. Millarc is a former professional competitive dancer who will help lead classes.
