Wal-Mart opens its latest Charlotte-area Neighborhood Market June 1 in Mooresville.

Construction is nearly complete on the new 41,000-square-foot store at 966 E. Iredell Ave., Wal-Mart said.

The Neighborhood Market is Wal-Mart’s version of a traditional supermarket. It offers low-priced items like fresh produce, meat, canned goods, health and beauty products, pet supplies and cleaning products.

The Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market was the Charlotte-area’s No. 10 grocer last year by market share, according to Chain Store Guide, a sales-tracking firm.

“We’re just about ready and preparing to open our doors,” store manager Felecia Wright in a statement. “We’re gearing up to make a difference in our store and in the Mooresville community.”
