On June 8, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is opening an outlet store and a permanent GW boutique – which offers trendy designer apparel, jewelry, shoes and accessories at low prices – in the new Goodwill Opportunity Campus in west Charlotte.
Goodwill experimented with the GW concept last fall in the EpiCentre. Goodwill describes GW as a “social, engaging and chic” store aimed at young shoppers. It offers brands like Kate Spade, Tory Burch and Coach.
Next door to the GW will be “Second Editions: A Goodwill Outlet Store,” a relocated version of Goodwill’s outlet store on Freedom Drive, which is closing.
Both stores will be in the 160,000-square-foot Leon Levine Opportunity Center, the campus’ flagship building. Both will host a grand opening celebration 9 a.m.-11 a.m. June 8, Goodwill said in a recent statement.
The Goodwill Opportunity Campus, at 5301 Wilkinson Blvd., will fully open its services for the public June 30.
The Opportunity Campus is a $22 million project that will house job training, job placement and job creation enterprises spread across 18.5 acres. Construction began on the site early last year.
