A new indoor cycling studio called CycleBar is opening in midtown Charlotte Sept. 5.

A married duo of personal trainers, Lisa and Marc Palmer, are opening the new CycleBar at 339 S. Kings Dr. They plan to open another two in Charlotte, according to a statement Thursday.

The company calls itself a “luxury boutique fitness franchise” -- it offers 50-minute classes in a “CycleTheatre” with 50 bikes and LED lighting, wide-screen graphics and a DJ booth. Riders can download their stats from class, as well as the music played in class. Other studio amenities include free towels, showers, lockers and shoes.

CycleBar says it has a pay-per-class model, and no membership is necessary.

Ahead of the grand opening, CycleBar is offering 50 free classes from Aug. 24-Sept. 4. Those interested can register at www.midtownclt.cyclebar.com.

CycleBar is in the same shopping center as Uncle Maddio’s, a pizza joint that just opened. Charlotte-based MPV Properties bought the property earlier this year and has been renovating the building’s façade.
