Blacksheep Skate Shop is closing its store in South End on Aug. 28. It will reopen in a new spot in Plaza Midwood Sept. 1.

The shop is the latest retailer to be upended by redevelopment in South End. It sits on the same property as the Common Market, a site that was sold for almost $12.2 million earlier this year. Cousins Properties is developing the site for Dimensional Fund Advisors, an Austin-based financial firm. Common Market closed in July.

Blacksheep has been at its current spot at 1504 Camden Road for almost 13 years, store employee Andrew Kolometz said.

The shop’s new spot is at 830 Lamar Avenue, behind Moo & Brew.

“We’re getting pushed out,” Kolometz said. “(But) we were fortunate enough to find something over there, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Blacksheep sells limited edition footwear, apparel and skateboards, according to its website.
