The Roby family just keeps growing.

In response to customer demand for a “seamless real estate buying and selling process,” the Charlotte-based Roby Family of Companies has started Roby Realty, a real-estate division that adds to its expansive business portfolio, which already includes an electric company, retirement and healthcare facility renovation business, maintenance service and commercial projects firm, according to a news release.

“Over the years as our clients have purchased new homes and sold previous ones, they’ve asked us for this service,” said Trent Haston, company president and CEO. “We realized we had an opportunity to make the buying and selling process easier for them.”

Roby Realty will help clients sell their homes, find property and construct a new home, or select an existing home in need of repairs.

Leading the company will be Ashley Davis, whose career includes tenures with Time Warner Cable Media and Wilson Realty in Charlotte, and Sandra Thomas, an experienced broker/realtor licensed in both the Carolinas.

“Roby Realty will equip clients with professionals who can capture all the renovation and new home construction expertise of our family of companies, and being that to the buying and selling experience,” Haston said in the release.

Andrew Roby started his Charlotte-based general contracting company in 1950 when it focused mostly on remodeling projects for residential properties. Roby sold the company to Glenn Haston and his son, Ron, in 1976. The Haston’s helped grow the company into one of the region’s largest custom residential re-modelers. In 1998, the company began doing its own electrical work and soon branched into different branches under the umbrella of the Roby Family of Companies.
