LendingTree adding over 400 high-paying jobs in Charlotte
LendingTree will be adding over 400 high-paying jobs to Charlotte, thanks to millions in state and local incentives. The announcement was made Thursday morning at the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance.
Employers across Charlotte, like elsewhere in the U.S., are struggling to find enough workers, as the unemployment rate falls. Jason Tebben, co-owner of Pineville-based landscaper Arborscapes, is one of those employers.
Thanks to nearly 300 charges of explosives, Buck Steam Station was decommissioned Oct. 19 when the final four units of the coal-fired generating station in Salisbury, N.C., were imploded. The plant began operations in 1926.
Half of the top 10 nonprofit pay packages in the Triangle belong to Duke University officials, with coach Mike Krzyzewski leading the way, according to a review of tax return data by The Charlotte Observer and The News & Observer.
