Central Piedmont Community College and Pfeiffer University have scheduled open houses next week for displaced ITT Tech students.
ITT Tech, one of the nation’s largest for-profit educational companies, closed all of its campuses on Tuesday amid accusations of widespread fraud and abuse, The New York Times reported. The closings included two Charlotte campuses.
CPCC’s open house will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. next Thursday at the Harris Campus, 3210 CPCC Harris Campus Drive, Charlotte.
Students can meet CPCC counselors and learn about programs that match their areas of interest.
Before attending the open house, ITT Tech students are encouraged to visit CPCC’s online Get Started page at cpcc.edu/getstarted and complete several steps to expedite enrolling and registering at CPCC.
Those steps include applying to CPCC via the CFNC website, adding the CPCC school code – 002915 – to their FAFSA and requesting their high school transcripts be sent to CPCC.
Event registration is required at http://ow.ly/hCN83041KS4.
Pfeiffer University’s drop-in open houses are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. next Wednesday and Thursday at the Charlotte campus, 4701 Park Road.
The university offers 29 traditional undergraduate programs and five degree completion programs, with online courses in business, nursing and criminal justice. ITT Tech students’ academic credits will be reviewed for transferability. Students should take their official or unofficial transcripts to the open house for on-site evaluation.
