A Iredell County man has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill after an argument with his brother earlier this week resulted in him launching a flurry of jabs with a knife.
Jeffery Lamont Moore, 48, of Fern Hill Road in Troutman is accused of stabbing his brother numerous times in the head, torso and hands on Sept. 12.
The victim, who was not named, was transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital by Iredell EMS to be treated. The victim is expected to recover, officials said.
Moore reportedly left the scene on a moped before Iredell County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, but he was stopped minutes later just north of Troutman on Shelton Avenue, officials said.
Moore is being held in the Iredell County Jail under a $50,000.00 secured bond. He has previous convictions for drug violations, breaking and entering and larceny, officials said.
