A 3-year-old and a woman died in a triple shooting in Shelby Thursday morning, Observer news partner WBTV reported.
The shooting happened about 7:45 a.m. in a home in the 600 block of Whisenant Street. A third victim shot went to the hospital. Police said it was not a drive-by shooting and was not random, although no motive has been released.

Five people were in the home – a man and his girlfriend, the owner of the home and her two baby boys. Police believe someone came into the home and shots followed.
