Three men arrested for breaking into home, robbing occupants

Mount Holly police have arrested three men in connection with a home invasion in which shots were fired Tuesday.

Victims in the home at 530 Costner Street said the three robbers forced their way in and robbed them of cash and other items. One of suspects was armed and fired a shot into the ceiling during the incident, the victims told police. Two of the victims indicated that they knew the suspects, police said.

Investigators said they arrived at the home in time to see one person run from the residence, and a vehicle leaving with no lights on. The vehicle was stopped a short time later and, after a brief foot chase, three suspects were taken into custody.

The suspects include: Octavious Rikeem Deshay White of Gastonia; DeAngelo Oston Rice of Stanley, and William Joel Porter III of Stanley. All three have been charged with first degree burglary and robbery with dangerous weapon. They were being held in the Gaston County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
