Fallen tree closes east Charlotte road, leaves nearly 100 without power

A downed tree shut down an east Charlotte road and left nearly 100 homes without power Friday morning.

The large tree fell on Plott Road near Robinson Church Road, just off of E WT Harris Boulevard.

Duke Energy reports 98 homes lost power in the area. The first outage was reported around 4 a.m.

There's no word on when Plott Road is expected to reopen. Duke Energy crews expect to have power restored by 4 p.m. Friday.
