A Shelby man is accused of communicating threats after he got intoxicated and holed up in a woman’s home, shouting and cursing at her from a back room, reports the Shelby Star.
It was unclear if the victim knew the suspect.
Police say the incident happened at about 11 p.m. Monday on Ivywood Drive. The Star reports officers found Derrick Jerome Wilson, 35, drunk in the back room of the home, shouting at a woman in another room. She lived in the home and he did not, it was reported.
Wilson refused to leave and struggled with the officers, the Star reported. He continued to curse at officers as he was brought before a magistrate judge, then yelled at the judge, who held him in contempt, the Star reports.
He is also charged with resisting arrest and second-degree trespassing, it was reported.
