The Carolina Raptor Center hosts flight shows every weekend of the summer from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The show features about a dozen birds of prey ranging from falcons to vultures to owls. Held in a small 80 person outdoor amphitheater, the show gives visitors an intimate experience with birds flying just inches over their heads.

The center is the only true “zoo” in Charlotte and showcases the often misunderstood birds of prey. Outside the flight show, the center has trails where vistors can see other types of predatory birds. The center also has an on site rehabilitation center that cares for injured and orphaned raptors and releases them back into the wild once strong enough.
