Multiple people injured in northeast Charlotte crash

Four people were hurt, two with life-threatening injuries, after a crash in University City Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. in the 2220 block of Back Creek Church Road. Medic said one person was pinned inside a car after the crash but was freed and taken to Carolinas Medical Center.

A second person with life-threatening injuries was also taken to Carolinas Medical Center, Medic said.

The remaining two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed to traffic, Observer partner WBTV reported.
