Charlotte’s latest homicide took place Saturday when a daughter allegeldy killed her 60-year-old mother off Monroe Avenue.

Annie Nicholson, 60, died of a “small gunshot wound” at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Nicholson’s daughter Nakonia Nicholson, 36, was charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Charlotte on pace to record about 91 homicides this year.

Last year, 69 people were victims of homicides – the highest number since 2008, police data show.
