Classes start at Central Piedmont Community College on Wednesday, bringing added traffic to the streets east of uptown Charlotte.
Expect congestion, including pedestrians, near the central campus along Charlottetown Avenue, Seventh Street and Kings Drive.
The college has two other campuses that also start Wednesday. The Levine Campus in Matthews will add congestion on U.S. 74 near Interstate 485 in Matthews and the Cato Campus will being traffic to Harris Boulevard north of Plaza Road Extension.
UNC Charlotte opens next Tuesday, promising congestion on University City Boulevard, North Tryon Street and Mallard Creek Road.
The first day of classes for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools is Aug. 28.
